Canadian, b. 1955 Sharon Mark was born in Ormstown, Quebec, and grew up in Hemmingford where she still makes her home. She was interested in art from a very early age, influenced by her maternal grandmother. Mark began painting again in the early 1980's following the birth of her two girls. A self-taught naive artist, Mark was always attracted to the landscape, and is influenced by the area around her. Her paintings evoke a nostalgic emotion, and portray an innocent world, with a romantic view of family life. In 1980, Mark began showing her work locally in Quebec, and in 1992 started showing her work across the country, and is collected nationally. |
